The Crown Commercial Service has released a framework agreement for use by UK public sector bodies to provide cloud computing. Different to G-Cloud, it’s valued at £750m and follows the Open procurement procedure.

With public sector bidding the highest score wins, and this one has 90% (quality):10% (price) MEAT ratio and a minimum score threshold of 40.1.

As usual with frameworks it’s a delicate balance to get your pricing right so that you win a place on the framework without hamstringing yourself once you’re on it, with prices too low to be viable.
