Cyber Essentials – more than just renewing

When going through our recent Cyber Essentials certification renewal, we noticed that there have been some changes to the requirements since last year. These reflect the changes to the ways we all operate nowadays and the increased threat of cyber-attacks on our systems, data, and clients’ data.

“The update includes revisions to the use of cloud services, as well as home working, multi-factor authentication, password management, security updates and more.”

As well as there being new requirements for 2022, some requirements that are currently ‘for information only’ will come into force in 2023.

So, if you’ve not yet renewed, plan a bit more time for your 2022 Cyber Essentials application before your current certification expires.

Note: Cyber Essentials is a government information assurance scheme that is operated by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). Certification is an endorsement that we have the proper controls and processes in place to protect our IT systems and those of our clients.
