We're chuffed to have been voted this year's winner of APMP's Industry Innovation award
BidCraft has been voted winners of the Industry Innovation award at the Association of Proposal Management Professional's annual awards ceremony on 16th December 2020. Learn more.
This award is for the team or company who has delivered successful outcomes by using new, diverse and innovative approaches to further the bid and proposal profession as a whole. The judges are looking for the stories behind the people where the need for industry-wide innovation was identified, ideas for solutions developed and new approaches successfully implemented. The Industry Innovation award is open to any organisation in good standing and can be from any sector and of any size.
Our winning entry was for the successful introduction and application of Pre-Mortems with multiple customers. Having identified a gap in bid and capture best practices, we had to execute the concept from scratch, gaining the buy-in and trust from senior stakeholders along the way.
Innovation is defined as, ‘a new idea or method, or the use of new ideas and methods’. Pre-mortems absolutely fit that definition.
As with any successful innovation, the solution becomes obvious the moment you find it. It immediately fills a gap that you didn’t know was there and makes you wonder how you managed without. We realised that developing a winning strategy is only half of the equation – as well as working out how to win, we also needed a method to work out how not to lose.
We were also shortlisted for the Capture Excellence Award being the only bidding services consultancy to make it onto the final list. Big congratulations to fellow shortlister Rachel Lishman of Savills UK and winner Nicki Dodds of WSP.
